Mumbai: While some consider Lionel Messi has already surpassed the bar set by earlier legends like Pele and Cryuff and Best to be called perhaps the greatest player of all time thanks to his individual success, others believe it’s the versatility of player to win games with different teams and players that determine their success.

The Argentine has for long been hacked for gaining titles with only his club at Barcelona and not his country. Despite numerous attempts with the Argentina national team, Messi has only made it to the finals of tournaments including the 2014 FIFA World Cup and the Copa America 2007, 2015 and 2016.
