No place for Subrata Paul among probables

Constantine said the tournament was an opportunity to play against good opponents.

New Delhi: National football coach Stephen Constantine on Thursday called up 30 players for India’s preparatory camp ahead the Hero Intercontinental Cup, to be held in Mumbai from June 1.

Veteran India goalkeeper Subrata Paul was again omitted from the squad after he was left out of India’s Asian Cup qualifying match against the Kyrgyz Republic.

The summoned players will assemble for the camp in Mumbai on May 16 while players from Bengaluru FC will report on May 18 after their AFC Cup commitments.

India will compete with Kenya, New Zealand and Chinese Taipei in the four-nation tournament, which is part of preparations for the 2019 AFC Asian Cup in the UAE.

Constantine said the tournament was an opportunity to play against good opponents.
