Barcelona: Argentina says midfielder Manuel Lanzini has torn a ligament in his right knee, ruling him out of the World Cup.
Argentina says Lanzini injured his leg while the team trained in Barcelona, Spain, on Friday. Argentina opens the World Cup against Iceland on June 16 in Moscow.
The 25-year-old Lanzini, who plays for English club West Ham, was expected to be a starter for coach Jorge Sampaoli.
