Tanzanian footballer dies on field after celebrating goal
Ismail Mrisho Khalfan got up after being tackled, as the referee immediately rushed to his aid.

Mumbai: In a sad turn of events, a Tanzanian football player died on the field during a match, after being on the wrong end of a tackle.
Ismail Mrisho Khalfan was playing for Tanzanian club Mbao FC’s U-20 team, in a match against home side Mwadui FC.
Khalfan had even scored a goal in the first half of the match, proceeding to perform a peculiar celebration with his teammates.

However, the celebrations turned into tears moments later, when Khalfan was seen writhing in pain after being tackled.
The 19-year-old never got up after being tackled, as the referee immediately rushed to his aid, while blowing his whistle to stop the game.

The medics at the ground were seen giving Khalfan some basic medical treatment, before being rushed to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
