PSG talent joins RB Leipzig

Leipzig, which will be playing in the Champions League for the first time this coming season, has signed French forward Jean-Kevin Augustin from Paris Saint-Germain. The Bundesliga side says the 20-year-old Augustin, who was reportedly also of interest to league rivals Borussia Dortmund and Hertha Berlin, has signed a five-year deal.

Augustin has made his way through all of France's national youth sides, winning the Under-19 European Championship last year. He had been part of PSG's senior squad since 2015.

Kicker magazine reports Leipzig is paying 13 million euros ($14.7 million) for the transfer. Augustin is the club's sixth signing of the offseason after Yvon Mvogo from Young Boys Bern, Philipp Koehn from Stuttgart Under-19s, Bruma from Galatasaray, Ibrahima Konate from Sochaux, and Konrad Laimer from sister club RB Salzburg.

Clichy joins former City teammate Adebayor at Istanbul

Former Manchester City and Arsenal left-back Gael Clichy is set to join Turkish club Basaksehir Istanbul, local press agency Anadolu reported on Thursday. The 31-year-old became a free agent when his contract at City ran out in June.

Former France international Clichy is expected to sign a contract with Basaksehir, who finished second behind Besiktas in the Turkish Super Lig last season, on Friday after a medical.

He struggled to hold down a first-team place at the Etihad Stadium in recent years, making just 30 league appearances across the last two seasons. The deal brings an end to his 14-year stay in the English Premier League after he joined Arsenal in 2003.

Clichy is the third former France international to move to Turkey in the close season, after attacking midfielder Mathieu Valbuena joined Fenerbahce and striker Bafetimbi Gomis signed for Galatasaray.

Huddersfield on a roll with eighth summer signing

Danish international defender Mathias Jorgensen became Premier League debutants Huddersfield's latest signing of the close season on Friday. The 27-year-old centre-back -- who has spent most of his career at FC Copenhagen apart from one unsuccessful spell with Dutch giants PSV Eindhoven -- signed a three-year contract for an undisclosed fee.

Huddersfield manager David Wagner said the 11-times capped Jorgensen, who has won five Danish championships, would be a huge asset for the daunting task that awaits them in the top league.

"Matthias is another very good signing for our club as we prepare for our first Premier League season," Wagner told the club website. "He is a very complete defender with great experience of being successful in every league he has played in, which served us well with the signings we made last season too.

"His athleticism and football intelligence will be big assets in the Premier League, for sure, and he is a super professional character, which will fit in with our current group of players very well.

"This deal makes total sense for us because Jon (Stankovic) is out of action until Christmas," added the 45-year-old German, who has proved an inspirational choice since being persuaded to leave his role as Borussia Dortmund reserve team coach in 2015.

Jorgensen joins among others Australian international midfielder Aaron Mooy, Benin international striker Steve Mounie, Belgian forward Laurent Depoitre and midfielder Tom Ince as new faces Wagner has brought in since Huddersfield beat Reading on penalties in the play-off final.

Middlesborough defender completes loan deal to Betis

Spanish defender Antonio Barragan has joined La Liga outfit Real Betis on a season-long loan from now relegated Premier League side Middlesborough.

Barragan produced some decent performances at the Riverside Stadium, but could not prevent themselves from relegation despite the sacking of Aitor Karanka.

Middlesborough has currently roped in former Swansea manager Gary Monk and will be aiming towards getting back in the English top flight.

Former Magpies midfielder Anita to continue in Championship

Leeds United have completed the signing of Newcastle midfielder Vurnon Anita on a 3-year contract for free.

Anita made 155 appearances for Newcastle after joining from Ajax in July 2012 and did not sign a contract extension despite winning the EFL Championship.

The 28-year-old Dutch international, featured in 27 league games last season to help the Magpies win the Championship title.

De Guzman leaves Napoli for Frankfurt

Former Swansea City midfielder Jonathan De Guzman has joined Bundesliga outfit Eintracht Frankfurt from Napoli.

The 29-year-old Dutch international spent last season on loan at Chievo Verona, and before that at second-tier side Carpi, and had not signed a contract extension with Maurizio Sarri’s side despite a year to go. While relevant paperwork is yet to be done, De Guzman has already agreed on terms and is set to join Frankfurt on their US tour.
