The film will cover VP’s childhood, his interest in the sport and his death - all the stages of his life will be portrayed through visuals.
“The way in which the film speaks about the life of VP through his family, friends, and his co- players was really touching”, said actor Jayasurya. “Hence I take this opportunity to sincerely play my part and do justice to his great contribution towards the State,” he added. It was in 1991 that Sathyan became the captain of the Indian team for the World Cup qualifiers in Beirut and Seoul. He led the Indian team to a gold medal in the 1995 SAF Games in Chennai. He also led Kerala to the Santosh Trophy title in 1992. On July 18, 2006, Sathyan committed
suicide by jumping in front of a train in Chennai. Four letters were found on him that suggested that he was going through financial troubles and hence ended his life.
