England test team captain Ben Stokes has been ruled out of fifth and final Test match against India at the Oval due to a shoulder injury, the England Cricket Board (ECB) confirmed on Wednesday.
Additionally, Jofra Archer and Liam Dawson also would be out of action at the Oval.
"Captain Ben Stokes is unavilable due to right shoulder injury. Also missing out are spinner Liam Dawson and pace bowlers Jofra Archer and Brydon Carse," an ECB statement reads.
England have made four changes to the playing XI, which includes Jacob Bethell, Gus Atkinson, Jamie Overton and Josh Tongue.
Ollie Pope would be leading the side as the stand-in captain for the decider game of the five match test series.
