Sachin Tendulkar Launches Fellowship in Memory of His Father on Teachers Day
The Professor Ramesh Tendulkar Memorial Fellowship is set up by the cricket god to honour his father's legacy as a professor, writer, poet, and mentor

On Teachers’ Day, Sachin Tendulkar announced the Professor Ramesh Tendulkar Memorial Fellowship honouring his father's legacy as a professor, writer, poet, and mentor.
Reflecting on his father’s influence, Sachin spoke about how he recognised his potential, gave him the freedom to find his own path, and showed him the transformative role of education and mentorship in helping people discover and realise their potential.
This is an initiative through the Sachin Tendulkar Foundation in partnership with its long-standing healthcare partner, Inga Health Foundation. Each year, one MD doctor will receive financial support for a year-long opportunity to specialise in cleft and craniofacial care in Srinagar.
For Sachin, the fellowship is a way of carrying forward his father’s belief that education creates opportunity, and that opportunity becomes truly meaningful when it is used to serve others.
