Rohit Sharma Falls For First-ball Duck in Vijay Hazare Clash

Virat Kohli top-scored with 77 off 61 balls, hitting 13 fours and 1 six before getting out.

Hyderabad: Team India star Rohit Sharma, who began his Vijay Hazare Trophy campaign with a sparkling century, failed to deliver in his second outing. The Mumbai opener was dismissed for a first-ball duck in the match against Uttarakhand on Friday.

In the game being played at Jaipur, Uttarakhand won the toss and opted to field. Mumbai, sent in to bat, suffered an early setback when Rohit edged the very first ball of the innings from Devendra Singh Bora (0.1) to Jagmohan Nagar Koti and walked back without scoring.

After five overs, Mumbai reached 22 for 1. Mushir Khan was batting on 5 (10 balls, 1 four) while Raghu Vamsi was on 11 (19 balls, 1 four) at the crease.

In another Vijay Hazare Trophy match in Bengaluru, Delhi took on Gujarat. Gujarat skipper chose to bowl first, and Delhi’s innings was anchored by Virat Kohli, who top-scored with 77 off 61 balls, hitting 13 fours and 1 six before getting out.
