Kishan’s Maiden Ton and SKY’s Blitz Power India to Massive 271/5

Already assured of the series with a 3–1 lead, India rebounded emphatically from the fourth-match setback

Hyderabad: A blistering batting onslaught, headlined by Ishan Kishan’s maiden T20I century, powered India to a colossal 271 for 5 against New Zealand in the fifth and final T20I at the Greenfield International Stadium on Saturday.

Already assured of the series with a 3–1 lead, India rebounded emphatically from the fourth-match setback with one of their most ferocious batting displays in T20I history. Early wickets in the powerplay briefly stalled the hosts before Kishan and skipper Suryakumar Yadav seized control.
Kishan anchored the middle overs with authority before unleashing a late surge to bring up a landmark hundred, while Suryakumar’s trademark 360-degree strokeplay kept the Kiwi attack under relentless pressure en route to a fluent fifty.
The innings ended in brutal fashion as Shivam Dube hammered a muscular cameo, highlighted by a towering free-hit six in the final over, to push the total beyond 270. New Zealand now confronts a daunting 272-run chase under lights to avert a 4–1 series drubbing.
