King Kohli Eyes T20 Partnership Record Surpassing England’s Alex Hales

The former Indian captain reaches the milestone in considerably fewer T20 matches than Alex Hales

Virat Kohli is on the verge of achieving yet another milestone in T20 cricket. The Royal Challengers Bengaluru star has now equalled English Batter- Alex Hales for the most 50-plus partnerships in T20 format, with both batters currently tied at 210 stands. With RCB still in the thick of the Indian Premier League 2026 season, Kohli now stands just one more fifty-run partnership away from becoming the outright leader in the list.

His ability to anchor an inning while rotating the strike consistently has made him one of the most dependable batters in the shortest format.

While former players like Chris Gayle and David Warner dominated the T20 cricket with explosive starts, Kohli’s presence in the list highlights his remarkable consistency and longevity throughout the years. The RCB star has maintained high standards across different eras of T20 cricket and continues to deliver crucial performances even in the ongoing IPL 2026 season.

Record equalled in 100 fewer games

What makes Kohli’s achievement even more remarkable is the fact that the former Indian captain reaches the milestone in considerably fewer T20 matches than the English batter Alex Hales, underling his unmatched consistency in the format.

Alex hales has played more than 500 T20 matches in his career being one of the most experienced batter to reach 210 fifty-plus stands in the T20 format while Virat Kohli has played over around 400 T20 games and as of May 2026, he has played around 415 T20 matches across IPL, T20Is, Domestic Cricket and Champions League T20 making him reach the milestone in 100 fewer games than Hales, highlighting his ability and consistency even more.
