Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s Knock Will Change How 14 Year Olds Dream
Ajay Jadeja called the innings “every cricketer’s dream”

In a night to remember in the TATA IPL, 14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi played a fearless, record-breaking knock against Gujarat Titans, drawing widespread acclaim from cricketing legends.
Speaking exclusively on Kuhl Fans Match Centre Live on JioHotstar, JioStar expert Sanjay Bangar hailed the teenager’s innings as unprecedented. “We’ve seen prodigies like Sachin go through the domestic grind. But this is T20 — a 14-year-old fearlessly taking on Rashid Khan, Ishant Sharma, Mohammed Siraj, and Prasidh Krishna. That six off a slower ball from Prasidh, hit off the back foot over long-off, was simply unreal,” said Bangar.
Ajay Jadeja was visibly moved by the performance, calling it “every cricketer’s dream.” Reflecting on the emotional depth and self-belief shown by the young batter, Jadeja remarked, “At 14 or 15, we all dreamt of this in our living rooms. But to live it in front of the world, in the IPL, takes a different mindset. He kept going without hesitation — that’s what blows me away.”
Bangar noted the significance of Vaibhav’s composed celebration, describing his simple bat salute as a statement of confidence. “Coming from Bihar, his success could inspire thousands. The pride his family and coaches must feel is immense.”
Jadeja added that this moment could reshape how children across India view cricket. “Just like Dhoni once changed what kids from small towns believed was possible, Vaibhav might be that new symbol of hope. The shots he played — you have to dream of them before executing.”
In the same match, Yashasvi Jaiswal impressed with a controlled, mature innings that complemented Vaibhav’s fireworks. Bangar praised Jaiswal’s effort to maintain the youngster’s momentum while guiding Rajasthan Royals to a crucial win. The team has now climbed to 8th on the points table, keeping their playoff hopes alive.
The IPL action continues tonight with Delhi Capitals taking on Kolkata Knight Riders at 7:30 PM, live on JioHotstar and Star Sports Network.
