Mhatre and Dube star in big total

In an impressive batting display, the Chennai Super Kings piled up a formidable total of 209/5 in 20 overs, scoring at a brisk run rate of 10.45.

Wicketkeeper-batter Sanju Samson had a brief stay at the crease, scoring 7 off 7 balls before falling early to Xavier Bartlett. Skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad contributed a steady 28 off 22 deliveries but couldn’t convert his start.

The innings was powered by a scintillating knock from Ayush Mhatre, who smashed 73 off 43 balls, including 6 fours and 5 sixes, setting the tone for a big total. He found solid support from Shivam Dube, who remained unbeaten on 45 off 28 balls, anchoring the latter half of the innings.

Late fireworks came from Sarfaraz Khan, who played a blistering cameo of 32 off just 12 balls, striking at over 260. Prashant Veer added a handy 6* towards the end as CSK crossed the 200-mark comfortably.

Among the bowlers, Vijaykumar Vyshak was the standout performer, picking up 2 wickets for 38 runs, while Yuzvendra Chahal, Marco Jansen, and Bartlett chipped in with a wicket each.

Despite the wickets, the bowling unit struggled to contain the flow of runs, conceding 17 extras, including 15 wides, which further boosted Chennai’s total.

With 210 required for victory, the opposition faces a daunting chase in what promises to be an exciting contest.
