KARIMNAGAR: Budding Stars defeated the Combined Districts team in a high-scoring Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) A Division One-Day match held at the Velichala Jagapathi Rao Memorial Cricket Ground in Alugunur, Karimnagar district, on Monday.
Cricket Association of Karimnagar president V. Agam Rao announced the match details. Batting first, Budding Stars set a formidable target by scoring 277 runs for the loss of seven wickets in their allotted 45 overs. The innings was anchored by a brilliant century from Jairam Kashyap, who scored 121 runs off 117 balls, hitting 11 fours and two sixes.
He was well supported by Aklankrit Agarwal, who added a steady 52 runs off 78 balls. For the Combined Districts team, Arfaz Goru was the standout bowler, taking four wickets for 43 runs.
In reply, the Combined Districts team put up a spirited chase but fell short, finishing at 261 for nine wickets. The innings featured notable contributions from Ganesh, who struck a quick-fire 74 off 68 balls, G.S.K. Reddy with 50 off 41 balls, and David Kripal Roy with 43 off 61 balls.
For Budding Stars, Uday Kiran delivered an impressive bowling performance, claiming three wickets to secure his team’s victory.
