HYDERABAD: In a notable development for local cricket, former India international player Ambati Rayudu has been appointed Head of Cricketing Operations at the Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA).
Rayudu announced his new role on Tuesday, thanking the association’s leadership for the opportunity. The appointment has been cleared by Justice P. Naveen Rao (SMC), HCA Secretary M. Jeevan Reddy, and the Apex Council.
Stepping into an administrative role, Rayudu said he sees this as a chance to bring meaningful changes within the system. He pointed to the strong pool of cricketing talent in Hyderabad and across Telangana, stressing the need to nurture it more effectively.
His broader aim is to strengthen the local structure so that more players from the region can progress to represent India at the highest level. His entry into HCA management is expected to bring a fresh, player-focused approach to the association’s functioning.
