Bangladesh cricketer Sabbir Rahman under investigation for assaulting fan?
Dhaka: Bangladesh cricketer Sabbor Rahman could be in major trouble after he was said to have assaulted a fan during a first-class match in Rajshahi last week.
The case is being currently investigated, and could mean further trouble for the Bangladeshi.
According to an ESPNcricinfo report, Sabbir, who represents Rajshahi Division in the domestic league, had taken permission from the on-field umpires to leave the field and went behind the sight screen to physically assault the fan.
The incident happened on Day 2 of a National Cricket League tier 2 match between Rajshahi Division and Dhaka Metropolis on December 21.
While the encounter between the two sides were drawn, Sabbir had a match to forget as he was dismissed for a duck in the only innings which Rajshahi batted and also failed to take a wicket.
The 26-year-old was part of the Bangladesh team which toured South Africa in October.
The last match he played for the Bangla tigers was in a T20, which came against the Proteas in October.
