‘My name was used for false stories concerning Indian cricket’, Anushka Sharma
Mumbai: Anushka Sharma, in a scathing tweet, dismissed all the rumours floating around her apparent involvement with Indian cricket. There have been several instances where Anushka Sharma’s name was being dragged through the mud, due to her relationship with Indian captain, Virat Kohli.
Anushka Sharma has previously been blamed for Virat Kohli’s bad run in form, influencing the selection process, given preferential treatment and blamed for overstaying her authorised time with her husband. It was also alleged that she used the board for her tickets or security.
In the latest instance, it was alleged that she was served tea by the BCCI selectors. This did not go down well with the Bollywood star. She decided to give everyone a piece of her mind on social media.
In a blistering post on Twitter, she shared a photo which wrote, “I have always been of the opinion that maintaining silence on false and fabricated news and stories is the best way to deal with your detractors.”

She added, “I have stayed quiet through all the times I was blamed for the performance of my then-boyfriend, now-husband Virat and continue to take the blame for the most baseless things involving Indian cricket.”
She also gave an ultimatum to the fake news mongers, “I am not and will not be a pawn to be used by anyone’s thoughts or beliefs or agendas and next time you want to use my name to discredit someone or the board or even my husband, do it with facts and proof & leave me OUT of it.”
Anushka Sharma ended her rant in a cheeky way by saying,”…. And for the record, I drink coffee.”
This seemed to be in response to the latest rumours floating around that she was being served tea by the board members.
