Hyderabad: Tanay Thyagarajan of Sporting XI picked a economical six-for to guide his side to a dominant 10-wicket victory and fetch six points against BDL in pool ‘A’ of the Hyderabad Cricket Association’s top division league match on Sunday.
Tanay trapped six batsmen in his spin web as the southpaw’s bowling figures read — 23.3-8-46-6. Syed too chipped in with three wickets to bowl out BDL side for 156 in the second innings. Later, Sporting XI chased down the target of 34 runs in four overs without any loss of wicket.
Earlier, after bowling out BDL for 243 in the first innings, Sporting XI piled up 366 on the board before being bowled out. Mir Jaweed Ali scored 120 for Sporting XI. Meanwhile, in the U-23 inter-district matches, Appa Rao (6/61) and Zubair (5/95) did well in bowling department.
