R Ashwin shuts down the troll asking him to learn' from Moeen Ali

After a Twitter user asked R Ashwin to learn something as you are anyway not playing', Indian off-spinner hit back.

Chennai: Ravichandran Ashwin may not be a part of India’s Twenty20 squad for the three-match series against England but that has not stopped the off-spinner from being under the spotlight. Ashwin, who is a cricket junkie and enjoys talking and analysing the game, is also very active on the social media where he is known to speak his mind on many topics under the sun.

While he has always made it a point to appreciate the healthier suggestions that come his way, he is known to shut down the trolls and give a fitting reply to those who target him. That trait of his was once again at the forefront after he had a go at a Twitter user who offered some unsolicited advice during the second India versus England Twenty20 in Nagpur on Sunday.

In one of the Tweets directed at Ashwin, the Indian off-spinner, who is rested from the Indian side for T20 series against Eoin Morgan-led England side, considering the five Test matches – one against Bangladesh and four against Australia – are scheduled to play since the beginning of February, was asked to “learn something” as he was “anyway not playing” from England’s Moeen Ali.

Ashwin did not hold back one bit and hit back at the user saying:

However, this was not the first time when Ashwin shut down the criticism targetted at him.

Ashwin, who did not name MS Dhoni in his thank you speech after winning the ICC Test Cricketer of the Year and ICC Cricketer of the Year Award in 2016, was slammed on social media. Ashwin, in his speech and tweets, had then thanked his wife Prithi, Indian team skipper Virat Kohli, coach Anil Kumble and the member of Team India support staff.

Some of the users on social media users were not too pleased with Ashwin's forgetting to credit Dhoni - under whom he played at Chennai Super Kings and Rising Pune Supergiants in the Indian Premier League and Team India. Ashwin then had hit back, saying:

R Ashwin, Prithi Ashwin
