Colombo: Sri Lanka's Australia-born physio Brett Harrop has tested positive for Covid-19, it is learnt.

According to the highly placed sources in the Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) board, the 42-year-old Harrop had tested positive earlier this month and had not joined the team hotel. "He did not join the bio-bubble and has not been with the squad", one of the sources, speaking exclusively over the telephone from Colombo, said on Monday morning.

"He is now in quarantine but may be fit enough to be with the team for the three T-20Is", the source added.

He has been replaced by the local-man Ajantha Wattegama.

Dr. KAP Kiriella, who was with the team on the West Indies tour has now rejoined the present squad, it is also learnt.

The other notable member joining the team hotel and the bio-bubble is the chief selector Pramodya Wickramsinghe.

The Sri Lankan team was given an off-day on Monday. On Monday morning they assembled in the hotel for the photo-shoot.

They played an intra-squad match on Sunday. "Originally it was scheduled to be a 50-over match but because of the rain it was later turned to be the reduced over match.

National captain Dasun Shanka and Dhananjaya de Silva skipped the teams.
