ENG vs NZ Semifinal: Fierce Jason Roy powers England to World T20 final

Roy's brilliant 44-ball 78 runs made the 154-run target too easy as Kiwis failed to score big.

New Delhi: England made absolute use of the Feroz Shah Kotla pitch as they hammered New Zealand by seven wickets to qualify for the final of the ICC World T20, here on Wednesday. England will now face the winner of the second semifinal between hosts India and West Indies.

New Delhi: Hot title favourites New Zealand will look to extend their winning streak to create history as they face an English side, who have peaked just at the right time here in the first semifinal of the ICC World T20 on Wednesday. Eoin Morgan has won the toss and England elect to field.

Kane Williamson and Co have been right on top of their game winning all their four group matches leading to the penultimate clash. The Kiwis might be the best team to have read the subcontinent conditions and Williamson has displayed his tactical flexibility to win the magnum opus.

England, on the other hand might have the advantage of cashing in on the familiarity of the venue having played their last two games at Feroz Shah Kotla. Eoin Morgan and his men boasts of explosive batsmen — the likes of Joe Root and Jos Buttle to name a few.

With Kiwi threat looming large, Morgan and his troops will look to capitalise on a resurgent Blackcaps outfit, who are in search to for a place in the final of the global event for the first time in history.
