Ranji Trophy: Rohit and Sandeep do well with bat
Hyderabad: K. Rohit Raydu scored a magnificent century while B. Sandeep missed his ton narrowly on the final day as Hyderabad reached 442/8 to salvage a draw in their Ranji Trophy Group ‘A’ match against Delhi here at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium on Tuesday.
Resuming at his overnight score of 61, Rohit, who looked shaky in the first innings, went on to score 103 off 239 balls with the use of 10 boundaries and a six. Meanwhile, Sandeep was well on course to reach his ton before being dismissed by Vikas Mishra for 93. In his 193-ball stint, Sandeep dispatched eight fours and a maximum.
With 16 points and a net run-rate of -0.156, Hyderabad finished at the fourth spot behind Karnataka (32, +0.479), Delhi (27, +0.333) and Maharashtra (16 points, +0.084).
Also, Kerala, M.P., Mumbai, Vidarbha and Bengal qualified for quarterfinals.
