Find out which Indian cricketer gave Pak's Shahid Afridi his Boom Boom' nickname

Afridi is well-known for his big-hitting and wicket-taking abilities.

Lahore: Former Pakistan cricketer Shahid Afridi is very often called ‘Boom Boom’ Afridi by cricket fans around the world. Afridi, who was one of the marquee players in Pakistan’s triumph in the ICC World T20 back in 2009, recently conducted a Q and A session for the fans.

One of the questions that was asked was about the story behind his nickname ‘Boom Boom’.

“#AskLala who gave you the title #BoomBoom”, asked one user. Afridi was quick to reply and revealed that it was current India head coach Ravi Shastri who gave him this nickname.

Afridi has played 27 Tests, 398 ODIs and 99 T20Is. He has smashed 476 sixes across all three international formats.

Meanwhile, Virat Kohli-led India are currently gearing up for the fourth Test against England beginning in Southampton on Thursday. They kept themselves alive in the series after a 203-run win in Nottingham in the third Test. The series is now 2-1 in favour of the hosts, with two matches to play.
