IPL 2019: Virat Kohli shouted expletives at match referee after RCB-MI match

MI beat RCB in controversial fashion as the umpires failed to notice Lasith Malinga\'s no-ball.

Bengaluru: The Indian Premier League (IPL) encounter between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Mumbai Indians (MI) concluded in controversial fashion when Lasith Malinga bowled a no-ball and the umpires failed to notice the same.

With Shivam Dube and AB de Villiers batting for the hosts, Kohli’s men needed seven runs from the last ball, but eventually was denied even a single run off Malinga’s delivery.

While Kohli slammed the ‘ridiculous’ no-ball error, he reportedly barged into the match referee’s room as well.

According to a Times Now report, the incident took place after the post-match presentation ceremony. Not only that, he used abusive language and also reportedly told the referee that he did not care if he is penalised for violating the code of conduct.

This was MI’s first win in the tour, whereas RCB suffered their second loss in as many games.
