AUS vs IND, 2nd T20: MS Dhoni doesn't miss the trick twice

India skipper misses stumping chance in seventh over, compensates in 12th.

Melbourne: India skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni doesn’t miss much. But during the second T20 against Australia here on Friday, he fumbled – a rare sight.

Shaun Marsh, batting on 16, tried to go for a big shot but was beaten by Ravindra Jadeja’s flight. Dhoni was probably surprised with the extra bounce.

Though Marsh departed later for run-a-ball 23, he anchored the innings with Aaron Finch scored a brisk 74 off 48 balls.

Dhoni’s missed chances usually grabs attention for it is rare.

During the tour of England in 2014, he faced a similar situation when he could not take off the bails at the right time to stop Jos Buttler’s blitzkrieg.

The Englishman was batting on 59 and ended up scoring 85.

England won the Test by 266 runs but today, the situation is different.

Dhoni made up for the missed chance in the 12th over by stumping the dangerous Glenn Maxwell off Yuvraj Singh.

He bettered his performance by stumping James Faulkner off Jadeja in the 17th over. Dhoni has the most number of dismissals in international cricket now.
