Sanath Jayasuriya to attend road show in Mumbai today

Former Sri Lanka captain Sanath Jayasuriya will participate in the road show in Mumbai on Wednesday.

The 53-year-old cricketer has been invited by the Sri Lanka Tourism and Consulate General of Sri Lanka for the three road shows being organised in Delhi, Mumbai and Hyderabad. The first road show was successfully organised in Delhi on Monday.

"Due to my preoccupation, I was not able to attend the Delhi show but will be attend the Mumbai event", Jayasuriya, speaking exclusively over the telephone from Raipur, where he is participating in the cricket match, said.

In order to expand the bilateral and cultural ties with India a series of road show is being organised in India.

Incidentally, Jayasuriya, who has played more than 575 international matches was recently appointed Lanka's tourism ambassador.

Former sports minister Harin Fernando, who is now the Minister of Tourism and Lands is in India with a delegation including Chalaka Gajabahu, Chairman Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau.

During the road show in Mumbai, Minister of Tourism and Sanath Jayasuriya are expected to meet several high profiled business leaders, tourism stakeholders and corporates.
