Russel Arnold takes a jibe at Team India with cocky fact, gets trolled on Twitter
Galle: Former Sri Lankan cricketer Russel Arnold was brutally ridiculed on Twitter after he attempted to take a dig at Team India. Russel, who now works as a cricket commentator, did not expect the visitors to dominate the first Test in the first few days and was highly optimistic about Sri Lanka bouncing back.
Soon after India crossed the 500-run mark on day 2, Arnold proudly pointed out to the Colombo Test in 1997 where Sri Lanka put on a mammoth 952 in reply to India’s surplus score of 500.
The last time India scored 500+ against SL in SL in the first innings of a Bilateral test match.... SL replied with 952 #Fact #SLvIND

The tweet did not go down well with many Indian fans, with one particular fan stating it would be a big achievement for Sri Lanka if they achieved the reverse of the gigantic figure. The dart came close to the bullseye in the end as the home team just managed to add 32 more runs in the 2nd innings.
Reverse the digits, even if Sri Lanka get 259 I'll be surprised.

Others soon joined in and took no time to troll the Sri Lankan commentator:

Earlier in the day, Virat Kohli’s men continued their onslaught on the Sri Lankans after opting to bat on Day three, taking a gigantic lead of 498 runs. However, if India does manage to scalp a victory, Russel might soon rue his overconfident tweet.
