Virat Kohli-Anil Kumble rift: Harsh Goenka takes sarcastic dig at Team India captain
Mumbai: Industrialist and Indian Premier League (IPL) team Rising Pune Supergiant owner Harsh Goenka is never shy about giving a piece of his mind on the social media, having previously been critical of star Team India cricketers like ace spinner Ravichandran Ashwin and former captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni.
This time, the 59-year-old industrialist has found a new target – Team India skipper Virat Kohli.
Kohli, who is currently with the national side, on a five ODI and two T20I tour of the West Indies, has come in for some criticism for his alleged rift with former India head coach Anil Kumble.
While the Team India captain had vehemently denied rumours of a rift for the former leg-spinner, during the recently concluded ICC Champions Trophy, Kumble’s statement after his retirement pointed quite on the contrary.
While the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has invited more applications for Anil Kumble’s vacated post of the head coach of Team India, Goenka posted a rather sarcastic tweet, mapping out the roles and responsibilities of the gaffer, which he lists as: “organise travel schedule, fix hotel rooms,” and “be obedient to BCCI and Indian cricket captain”.
