After targeting MS Dhoni, Harsh Goenka takes dig at Virat Kohli post Anil Kumble exit
Mumbai: Harsh Goenka, industrialist and brother of Indian Premier League (IPL) team Rising Pune Supergiant owner Sanjeev Goenka, is never shy about giving a piece of his mind on the social media, having previously been critical of star Team India cricketers like ace spinner Ravichandran Ashwin and former captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni.
This time, the 59-year-old industrialist has found a new target – Team India skipper Virat Kohli.
Kohli, who is currently with the national side, on a five ODI and two T20I tour of the West Indies, has come in for some criticism for his rift with former India head coach Anil Kumble.
While the Team India captain had vehemently denied rumours of a rift for the former leg-spinner, during the recently concluded ICC Champions Trophy, Kumble’s statement after his retirement pointed quite on the contrary.
While the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has invited more applications for Anil Kumble’s vacated post of the head coach of Team India, Goenka posted a rather sarcastic tweet, mapping out the roles and responsibilities of the gaffer, which he lists as: “organise travel schedule, fix hotel rooms,” and “be obedient to BCCI and Indian cricket captain”.

Organise travel schedule
Fix hotel rooms
Be obedient to BCCI and Indian cricket captain.
Goenka has been known to be outspoken with his opinions about the gentleman's game, and has been critical of former captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni on a few occasions.
After his side RPS defeated eventual champions in the round robin stage of 2017 IPL earlier this year, Goenka took to Twitter to praise the IPL finalists skipper Steve Smith, who had taken over the captain's job from Mahendra Singh Dhoni.
However, the way in which he praised Smith did not go down too well with the Dhoni fans.
The industrialist had further aggrevated the Dhoni fans after he failed to include the former India skipper from his list of RPS cricketers, who he thinks have done well for the franchise.
