Why is Sunrisers silent on axeing David Warner?

It's a question of ethics. You can't have a player caught cheating to lead an IPL team regardless of how much money has been invested in him

David Warner has blatantly cheated the cricketing world, and has admitted his guilt, yet Sunrisers Hyderabad want him to lead the side in the IPL season that starts in 10 days. It’s clear that the owners are willing to compromise sporting ideals in their effort to keep a match-winning player in the squad.

The astronomical sum — '12.5 crore — the franchise shelled out to retain its captain is evidence that the IPL is more business than bats and balls.

Mentor V.V.S. Laxman is on record saying the team will wait for Cricket Australia’s decision on Warner before taking a call.

The team management has kept mum. That’s raising eyebrows and dropping jaws in cricket circles where team ethics are being questioned.“We are under a contract, so can’t comment,” is the reason given.

Also, the fact that Warner is the nucleus around which the team that emerged champions in 2016 has been built must be holding the owners back from penalising the player. So much for fairplay.
