Indian Premier League 2018 Player Auction Day 2: Live streaming, telecast, timings
Bengaluru: The first day of the Indian Premier League (IPL) auction saw some big names going unsold. Overall 109 players went under the hammer out of which 78 were sold, while 31 remained unsold.
Apart from big signings franchises decided to invest on uncapped players distributing a total of over Rs 250 crore’s on Day 1.
England all-rounder Ben stokes, who has a court case against his name couldn’t stop franchises from bidding for him during the auction. Rajasthan Royals finally managed to sign the all-rounder at Rs 12.5 crores, making him an expensive buy for second consecutive year.

From Indian cricketer’s perspective, KL Rahul and Manish Pandey attracted lot of interest and ended up being the joint most-expensive Indian players at Rs 11 crores each.

Big names like Chris Gayle, Hashim Amla, Mitchell McClenaghan, Josh Hazelwood failed to attract interest of bidders on the first day of the auction . After huge surprises on Day 1, the second day is also expected to provide some intense bidding from the team owners.

The live telecast of the IPL 2018 player auction can be watched on Star Sports 1, Star Sports 1 HD and Star Sports 1 Tamil from 9 AM (IST) onwards. The live telecast will commence at 9.05 AM (IST) on Star Sports First, Star Sports 1 Hindi and Star Sports 1 Hindi HD.
