Video: Women's BBL star Dottin hospitalised after on-field head clash
The 25-year-old, who was playing for Brisbane Heat, collided with her teammate Laura Harris at the deep mid-wicket boundary during the BBL game against Melbourne Stars at the Allan Border field, ESPNcricinfo reported.
The incident took place in the 11th over of the chase when Meg Lanning hit seamer Haidee Birkett over midwicket and Dottin and Harris were the fielders at that time. The duo was trying to prevent the ball from crossing the boundary when they crashed into each other.
Dottin seemed to have landed awkwardly on a kit bag and was taken off the field in a stretcher by the medical staff. Harris, on the other hand, was thrown into the picket fence, but she was well enough to continue playing at the ground until the end of the match, which Heat went on to win by five runs.
The accident came a day after Heat's fast bowler Holly Ferling suffered a concussion after her head was struck hard into the turf while trying to catch the ball.
