Virat Kohli to play 3rd Sri Lanka Test, rested for ODIs as Rohit Sharma named captain

India's 15-man squad for the final Test against Sri Lanka and the three ODIs against the same opponents were announced on Monday.

Nagpur: The MSK Prasad-led selection committee sprang no surprises as it announced the 15-man squad for the final Test against Sri Lanka and the three ODIs against the same opponents were announced on Monday.

While Virat Kohli will lead the side for the final Test in New Delhi, he will be rested for the ODI series, starting on December 10. In the absence of Kohli, Rohit Sharma will captain the squad.

 

Uncapped cricketer Siddarth Kaul has been named in the ODI side against the Islanders.

For third Test vs SL: Virat Kohli (Captain), M Vijay, KL Rahul, Shikhar Dhawan, Cheteshwar Pujara, Ajinkya Rahane (Vice-Captain), Rohit Sharma, Wriddhiman Saha, R Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, Kuldeep Yadav, Mohammed Shami, Umesh Yadav, Ishant Sharma, Vijay Shankar.
