Australia beats Ireland by 9 wickets in South Africa
Benoni: Australia warmed up for a five-game series against South Africa with an easy nine-wicket victory over Ireland in their one-off one-day international on Tuesday.
Top-ranked Australia dismissed the lowest-ranked ODI team for 198 after leg spinner Adam Zampa's 3-37.
Usman Khawaja led Australia's chase with 82 not out and was supported by captain Steve Smith's 59 not out, with Smith straight back in form after getting a rest on the recent tour of Sri Lanka.
Australia and South Africa open their series on Friday.
Australia's bowlers started slowly against Ireland, with the Irish getting to 121-2. Australia turned it around quickly, though, taking Ireland's last eight wickets for 77 runs.
John Hastings and Scott Boland had two wickets each and Daniel Worrall collected 1-43 on his international debut.
