Tough but not impossible for India to win series at this stage: Virender Sehwag

The visitors lost their opening two matches in Birmingham and London before making a comeback at Nottingham with a stunning victory.

London: With Team India trailing 2-1 in the ongoing five-match Test series against England, Virender Sehwag has backed Virat Kohli and co to turn the tide around against the hosts.

The visitors lost their opening two matches in Birmingham and London before making a comeback at Nottingham with a stunning victory. However, the former India batsman believes Kohli can achieve the task with the set of players at his disposal.

“Under the captaincy of Virat Kohli, India can defeat England 3-2 to win Test series. It's tough but not impossible for the current set of players to win the Test series from this stage," Sehwag was quoted as saying by IndiaTV.

The momentum is in favour of India heading into the fourth Test in Southampton but their chances will once again depend on Kohli, who has been their go-to man so far.

"Not just players but the entire nation has its faith in Virat Kohli. India is excessively dependent on their skipper. We hope he continues to score runs in following Test matches as well and take his team to the series triumph," he continued.

The India skipper is leading the run-scoring charts so far this series with 440 runs in his kitty and will hope to continue his stellar run.
