Fort Lauderdale: Dwayne Bravo displayed tremendous composure as West Indies defeated India by a run in a thriller at the Central Broward Regional Park in Fort Lauderdale on Saturday.

KL Rahul’s breathtaking ton went in vain as the Carlos Brathwaite-led side took 1-0 lead in the two-match T20 series.

Earlier, after put in to bat first West Indies openers Johnson Charles (79) and Evin Lewis (100) bulldozed Indian bowlers as the Caribbean side amassed 246 runs.

The West Indian duo, who spared no one, dealt in fours and sixes as MS Dhoni-led Indian side looked listless in the field.

Following his good show in Zimbabwe and West Indies, KL Rahul has replaced Shikhar Dhawan in the opening slot. West Indies, meanwhile, will miss the services of Chris Gayle.

India innings:

20th over: IND 245/4 (Rahul 110)

Bravo has done it, he has done it once again! India needed 8 runs in the final over to win the game but Bravo held his nerve to pull off a stunner of a win for West Indies. India required 2 runs on the final ball to win the game but Dhoni could not time one to perfection and Marion Samuels held onto an easy catch at short third-man to seal a thrilling Windies win.

19th over: IND 238/3 (Rahul 108, Dhoni 40)

Russell leaks runs! Andre Russell has leaked 16 runs in the penultimate over as Rahul completes a very special ton. India were under pressure chasing a mammoth total but the Karnataka batsman has played a very fine T20 knock.

18th over: IND 222/3 (Rahul 94, Dhoni 39)

Tight over! Bravo has managed to hold his nerve after giving away four on the first ball.

17th over: IND 213/2 (Rahul 94, Dhoni 31)

Dhoni power in full swing! MS Dhoni has dispatched two sixes in an over and Rahul has added one more to mount trouble for Windies.

15th and 16th over: IND 193/3 (Rahul 88, Dhoni 18)

The Rahul show continues! KL Rahul continues to dazzle one and all barring the West Indian. India are in with a chance to win this one.

14th over: IND 168/3 (Rahul 69, Dhoni 12)

Narine under attack! KL Rahul has outdone Narine today. He hits one over the covers for six, then reverse-sweeps one for four. Very rarely Narine looks so clueless.

13th over: IND 150/3 (Rahul 52, Dhoni 12)

Dhoni looks to attack! MS Dhoni has made a move straightway. Four, some quick runs and India reach 150.

12th over: IND 138/3 (Rahul 51, Dhoni 1)

Pollard gets Rohit! Just when Rohit was looking set to take the game away from West Indies, Pollard has managed to get his Mumbai Indians teammate out

11th over: IND 131/2 (Rohit 62, Rahul 46)

Windies missing the trick! Misfields, hit-me-deliveries and Rohit and KL Rahul have made sure that India keep moving ahead with a rapid pace.

10th over: IND 116/2 (Rohit 53, Rahul 40)

India cash in! West Indies have started to look complacent in the field and India are cashing in. Misfield, overthrow and then Rohit's fifty with a six.

9th over: IND 104/2 (Rohit 43, Rahul 38)

Russell drops one! KL Rahul must make most of this opportunity. He miscued one and Andre Russell, who ran in from the deep, could not hold onto it.

8th over: IND 96/2 (Rohit 42, Rahul 31)

Rohit joins the party! You just can't keep him away from the big hits; especially in limited-overs cricket. He has decided to hit sixes and Narine has to pay.

7th over: IND 80/2 (Rohit 27, Rahul 30)

Rahul is on a roll! The young Indian batsman is on a roll here. After smashing Narine, he has hit two crunching fours off Brathwaite. He must bat long.

6th over: IND 67/2 (Rohit 25, Rahul 19)

Rahul takes on Narine! Bright start from KL Rahul. He has danced down the track, moved outside off, made room to hit through the off-side to counter Narine and that has worked.

5th over: IND 51/2 (Rohit 25, Rahul 3)

Huge blow for India! Bravo, the bowler, has done the trick for West Indies now. Kohli could not hit it clean as he tries to pull and the wicketkeeper has done the rest to give West Indies their second breakthrough.

4th over: IND 42/1 (Rohit 24 , Kohli 11)

Kohli gets going! Virat Kohli has got going without wasting any time. He has to attack from the word go today and he is doing the same, attacking Badree.

1st to 3rd overs: IND 31/1 (Rohit 26, Kohli 0)

Bravo’s stunner! Just when India looked good for a flying start Dwayne Bravo’s athleticism ended Ajinkya Rahane’s innings.

West Indies inning:

19th and 20th over: WI 245/6 (Bravo 1, Samuels 1)

Bumrah's double! Jasprit Bumrah has redeemed himself a bit as he scalps two wickets and runs Brathwait out in his and innings' final over.

17th and 18th over: WI 225/3 (Pollard 7, Brathwaite 14)

Windies slow down a bit! India have managed to keep Pollard in check. Just 20 runs in the last two overs.

16th over WI 205/3 (Pollard 1, Brathwaite 1)

Hundred for Lewis, double strike for Jadeja! Evin Lewis has got out after scoring an outstanding ton in only his second game. The West Indian has scored his ton in just 48 balls.

Jadeja, who has trapped Russell before the wickets, has managed to add one more wicket to his account as Ashwin took an easy catch.

15th over: WI 199/1 (Lewis 99, Russell 18)

Russell joins the party! Andre Russell is making sure not to miss out on some easy sixes.

13th over and 14th over: WI 189/1 (Lewis 97, Russell 11)

Lewis inches closer to 100! West Indies have slowed down but just a bit. Lewis is in touching distance to bring up a brilliant hundred.

12th over: WI 168/1 (Lewis 85, Russell 1)

No fours, no sixes! R Ashwin has bowled a four-run over. This is the first over in the game when Windies did not hit a four or a six.

11th over: WI 164/1 (Lewis 82, Russell 1)

Oh Stuart, what have you done! Stuart Binny has given away five sixes in his first over. Lewis hit him all over the park. This is faster than book cricket.

10th over: WI 132/1 (Lewis 51, Russell 1)

Finally, a wicket! Charles' paddle sweep has ended his inning and India's pain. Shami has given Team India their first breakthrough.

8th and 9th over: WI 121/0 (Charles 79, Lewis 41)

Home-run mode! Charles and Lewis are making mockery of the Indian attack. They have added another 30 runs in 2 overs.

7th over: WI 91/0 (Charles 51, Lewis 39)

India absolutely clueless! Jadeja is welcomed into the attack with two massive sixes. Lewis is in no mood to play a sheet anchor’s role.

6th over: WI 78/0 (Charles 51, Lewis 26)

Charles zooms past fifty! No bowlers is spared. Charles has taken on R Ashwin and hit 2 sixes in a row to bring up his fifty. Windies are slamming it.

5th over: WI 64/0 (Charles 38, Lewis 25)

Bumrah under fire! Charles and Lewis are not demolishing the Indian attack. Charles and Lewis have amassed 18 runs in Bumrah’s second over.

4th over: WI 46/0 (Charles 31, Lewis 14)

There's no stopping Charles! Bhuvi concedes 13 runs in his second over as Charles continues to punish Indian bowlers.

3rd over: WI 33/0 (Charles 21, Lewis 11)

Windies continue their merry ways! Dhoni has wasted no time and has taken Shami out of the attack. But Windies continue their aggressive ways as the openers score 9 runs off Bumrah’s first over.

2nd over: WI  24/0 (Charles 21, Lewis 2)

Bhuvi bowls a tight one! Charles is going hammers and tongs but Bhuvneshwar Kumar has bowled a tight over. Just seven runs off the 2nd over.

1st over: WI 17/0 (Charles 15, Lewis 1)

Charles off to a flying start! Mohammed Shami is getting smashed around the park as Johnson Charles has hit a six and two crunching fours.
