Afghanistan cricketers chase kid for polio dose

The action displays their committment towards the Afghan society.

Kabul: Although they are yet to earn Test team status, Afghanistan are making rapid progress since the time they first played top-flight international cricket.

Their recent shot at glory was when they defeated eventual ICC World T20 2016 Champions West Indies in the tournament.

While there are already quite a few fans who swear by the team, their popularity will get a shot in the arm after some of the players of the team displayed awareness to the social cause of eradicating polio.

Polio drops are given to toddlers to keep the disease at bay. In a photo, which has gone viral, two Afghan cricketers are captured chasing a boy who was trying to run away from the dosage.

The action by the cricketers indicates their commitment towards their countrymen and social cause.
