IPL 2018: Did KKR skipper Dinesh Karthik drop F-bomb on 'fool' Prasidh Krishna?
Kolkata: Just like MS Dhoni, Dinesh Karthik is known for his cool and calm demeanour on the cricket field. The Tamil Nadu wicket-keeper batsman, who guided Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) to the 2018 Indian Premier League playoffs, however, lost his cool during the Qualifier 2 match against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on Friday.
After putting the visitors to bat first, Kuldeep Yadav snapped the precious wickets of Kane Williamson and Shikhar Dhawan to put the pressure on SRH. As the pressure heated up, the KKR skipper was keen on keeping things tight and not leaking away unnecessary runs.
But in the last ball of the ninth over, Prasidh Krishna was at the receiving end of abuses by Karthik after some inattentive fielding. Shakib Al Hasan punched the ball towards the off-side for a single as Krishna rushed to collect it.
In the middle of the action, Karthik suggested the youngster play cool but Krishna responded with an erractic throw at the non-striker's end. Despite no extra runs being given away, Karthik was heard saying, “Hey, you f***ing fool”
Eventually, despite efforts from Chris Lynn and Karthik in the chase, the hosts bowed out of the tournament by 25 runs thanks to an all-round show from Rashid Khan.
