Rashid Khan set to create history for Afghanistan during ICC World Cup Qualifier
Harare: Afghanistan star spinner Rashid Khan added yet another feather to his cap as he is set to become the youngest captain in the history of international cricket at nineteen years.
Rashid will lead Afghanistan during ICC World Cup qualifiers in Zimbabwe after regular skipper Asghar Stanikzai was diagnosed with appendicitis.
Afghanistan Cricket board in its press statement said "The doctors have advised that he will be able to return to cricket in approximately 10 days. Current vice-captain Rashid Khan will lead the team in his absence,".

Afghanistan will play warm up matches against West Indies and Netherlands on 27th February and 1st March, in Harare before they travel to Bulawayo for the group-stage matches. Rashid’s first game as Afghanistan skipper will against Scotland on 4th March 2018.
The 19-year-old leg-spinner became the youngest player to be ranked No.1 in the ICC T20 bowlers rankings. Rashid have so far picked up 86 wickets from 37 ODIs and 47 wickets from 29 T20Is.
In the 2018 player auction, Sunrisers Hyderabad retained Rashid's services using the Right to Match card for Rs 9 crore.
