Injured Jhulan Goswami not picked for India women's side for ODI series vs Australia

BCCI on tuesday announced India Women's squad for the upcoming series against Australia.

Mumbai: India’s pace spearhead Jhulan Goswami once again missed out on selection, after failing to recover from injury as Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced India Women’s squad for the upcoming series against Australia.

Jemimah Rodrigues retained her place in the squad after her successful debut series against South Africa.

"The All-India Women's Selection Committee has named the India Women's squad for the Paytm ODI series against Australia Women. The three-match series that will be held in Vadodara is part of the ICC Women’s Championship (2017-2020)" a BCCI statement said.

The Mithali Raj-led side is scheduled to play the three-match ODI series against the visiting Aussies. Team India will enter the contest with a lot of confidence after their historic ODI and T20 series win against South Africa in their own backyard.

Smriti Mandhana will look to continue her form with the bat after brilliant series against Proteas women. The left-handed opener who was touring the rainbow nation for the first time was named the man of the series.

The bowling attack will be lead by Shikha Pandey and Pooja Vastrakar. Poonam Yadav, Ekta Bisht, and Rajeshwari Gayakwad were named as the specialist spinners in the squad. The ODI series will start on March 12 and all the matches will be played in Vadodara.
