Akshath smashes century, suman falls short as Hyderabad win one-day game
Hyderabad: P. Akshath Reddy hammered a big century to guide Hyderabad to 113-run victory over Saurashtra in their Group ‘D’ match in the Vijay Hazare trophy one-dayers being played in Kolkata.
Akshath scored a mammoth 154 in 132 balls which included 14 fours and 2 maximums while K. Sumanth hit a steady 91 as Hyderabad made 312/7.
In reply, Saurashtra’s P.N. Mankad’s century went in vain as his side folded for 226. C.V. Milind notched four wickets while Mehdi Hasan and M. Ravi Kiran picked two wickets each.
In the another match, Andhra carved out a two-wicket win over Madhya Pradesh. Chasing a lowly 127, Andhra rode on G. H. Vihari’s unbeaten 58.
