From most expensive to blowing cold: Yuvraj Singh's up and down journey in IPL
Bangalore: Discarded India cricketer Yuvraj Singh was snapped up by former franchise Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2018 Player Auction on Saturday for his base price of Rs. 2 crores.
It came after SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) decided not to use their Right to Match (RTM) card on the 36-year-old. Though the Preity Zinta co-owned roped in their former skipper for a meagre sum, it was surprising how the player did not spark any bidding during the auctions.

Having played for five different franchises in the cash-rich league, Yuvraj holds a decent IPL record. The southpaw has scored 2587 runs and scalped 36 wickets in 120 IPL matches.

Kings XI Punjab (KXIP)
Yuvraj was the marquee player for Kings XI Punjab and captained the side since the inaugural edition. In 2010, Kumar Sangakkara was promoted to KXIP skipper but that did not stop them from reaching the semi-finals, their best ever run in the competition till date.
Pune Warriors (PW)
Pune Warriors made their inception during the 2011 campaign but despite some big names in the form of Yuvraj Singh, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Wayne Parnell and James Faulkner, they landed second last on the table.
Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB)
Yuvraj Singh made the headlines after he was snapped up by Vijay Mallya’s Royal Challengers Bangalore for a staggering 14 crores in the 2014 season, becoming the most expensive player in the tournament. He scored 376 runs along with claiming 5 wickets as RCB finished as runners-up.

Delhi Daredevils (DD)
Despite being left out of the national team, Yuvraj prompted a fierce tug of war between RCB and Delhi Daredevils and forced the latter to break the bank to claim his services. The left-hander failed to prove his price tag as DD ended up in the 7th spot that season.
SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH)
Yuvraj’s hefty price tag dropped the following season as SunRisers Hyderabad coughed up Rs. 7 crores for the all-rounder. Yuvraj went on to lift his first IPL title with the Orange Army after registering a spirited performance in the finals.
