KPL: Negi, Kapoor spur Hubli Tigers
Hubbali: A superb unbeaten 53 by Dikshanshu Negi powered Hubli Tigers to a five-wicket win over Mangalore United in the KPL-5 clash at the KSCA Stadium in Rajnagar here on Sunday.
Put in to bat first, Mangalore United posted a challenging 173/7. M Vishwanathan (45, 35b, 2x6, 4x4) and M. Nidhish (41, 38b, 1x6, 3x4) were the top-scorers.
In reply, Tigers’ Kunal Kapoor (65, 46b, 1x6, 7x4) and Manjesh Reddy (30; 22b, 1x6, 4x4) added 69 runs for the second wicket to lay a solid foundation in the chase.
Kapoor then added 51 from 42 balls for the third wicket with Negi to cruise home with two balls to spare. The win ensured that Tigers would make the semifinal stage.
