83 World Cup stalwarts for APL final in Vizag

VISAKHAPATNAM: Andhra Cricket Association (ACA) secretary S.R. Gopinath Reddy revealed that members of the 1983 World Cup Team will be present at the upcoming Andhra Premier League (APL) and ACA Platinum Jubilee celebrations.

He underlined that APL is being organised to uncover talent within the young cricketers of Andhra Pradesh. Former India Test captain and ex-BCCI senior selection committee chairman Krishnamachari Srikanth and former India national cricket coach Madan Lal will be at the final of the APL league at Dr. YSR ACA-VDCC Cricket Stadium in Vizag on Sunday.

Gopinath Reddy said there will be spectacular showcasing of talent, which will attract attention of the IPL team scouts, paving way for a promising future for young players.

A notable presence at the ACA Platinum Jubilee celebrations will be BCCI president Roger Binny, who is set to be the chief guest.

Highlighting the event's significance, ACA president P. Sarath Chandra Reddy said APL-2 will continue the tradition of APL-1 of uncovering latent talent among the state's young cricketers.

He said the legacy of those who have worked tirelessly for ACA's development over the past 70 years will also be remembered during the Andhra Premier League matches.
