Watch; Yuvraj Singh get out in a bizarre fashion during the first match of GT20

Yuvraj was ruled out by the leg umpire during the 17th over, but his dismissal seemed to be an umpiring blunder.

Mumbai: Yuvraj Singh who has played his first match post his retirement, has witnessed an unusual dismissal after hitting 14 from 27 balls for his side Toronto Nationals versus Vancouver Knights in the first match of the GT20 season. Yuvraj was ruled out by the leg umpire during the 17th over, but his dismissal seemed to be an umpiring blunder.

After a hard fought innings, in which Yuvraj seemed to have played with a bad back, soon got out while trying to accelerate the scoring rate at the end of the innings. Canadian Rizwan Cheema bowled a ball which nicked the bat and went to the wicket-keeper, who dropped the catch.

The ball ricocheted off the keeper’s gloves and ended up on the stumps. However, during the same time when the ball had hit the bails, Yuvraj’s had his foot well inside the crease, and the same was shown in the replays. But, Yuvraj’s feet got outside the crease after some time. And, the leg umpire had declared him out. Yuvraj walked backed towards the pavilion while the replays were shown.

Many people came to the stadium to see the former Indian cricketer play, but the retired-all-rounder failed to produce a scintillating innings as he manage to score only 14 from 27 balls .
