Video: Mithali Raj and co get rousing reception upon return from World Cup
Mumbai: They may have lost the final of the 2017 ICC Women’s World Cup, but they have won more than the 1.3 billion hearts back home, something that was more than evident in the rousing reception that they got upon their arrival in Mumbai, from England.
The Indian women’s cricket team produced a brilliant performance in the World Cup, where they achieved their joint best performance, making it all the way to the finals.

The last time they achieved this feat was 12 years back, in 2005, when now senior cricketers Mithali Raj and Jhulan Goswami were a pair of youngsters trying to make their mark in the sport.
The duo has overseen a transition period, leading a young team from being qualifiers to reach the final of the World Cup, a journey that was lauded by one and all, as they fell short by 9 runs against hosts England in the summit clash.
However, upon returning to their homeland on Tuesday, the women’s cricket team got an overwhelming reception at the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport, in Mumbai.
