Hyderabad: G. Vikram Naik of Evergreen scored a patient 148 on Day One in the HCA’s top division league match while Adarsh Kumar Singh scalped a economical seven-for to hog the limelight on the second day of the second division league match here in the city.
Vikram made the optimum utilisation of crease by batting first as he dispatched 15 boundaries and a six in his 274-ball stint before getting dismissed when he was two short of 150. Evergreen were 290 for 6 at stumps against Cambridge XI.
In other matches, Mohit Soni (5/29) of EMCC, SCRA’s M. Suresh (5/45) and S. Naveen Kumar (5/46) of Continental performed well in the bowling department.
Meanwhile, in the second division Pool ‘B’ match between Team Speed and Zinda Tilismath, it was Adarsh who turned out to be the nemesis for the for the latter side as he ruffled feathers of the opposition batsmen and picked a seven-wicket haul to guide his side to a comfortable 173-run victory. His figures read 11.2-2-39-7.
The other bowlers who did well in Pool ‘B’ matches are Ramesh 5/21, Aabid Khan 5/39 and Rishab Baslas 5/64 while Mayank Gauti smashed a quick 112 from 99 balls including 17 hits to the boundary and four sixes as Kosaraju Cricket Club defeated Crown CC ironically by 112 runs.
