No MS Dhoni, Virat Kohli in McCullum's all-time XI
Mumbai: Former New Zealand skipper Brendon McCullum announced his own playing eleven recently with Sir Viv Richards as skipper. Indian cricket icon Sachin Tendulkar and Caribbean giant Chris Gayle has been listed openers; what raised eyebrows is the absence of MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli from the team.
The other notable names in the squad include Ricky Ponting at number three, Brian Lara at four, all-rounder Jacques Kallis at six with skipper Richards at number five.
Adam Gilchrist has been chosen the wicketkeeper who will bat at number seven.
Even South Africa cricket star AB de Villiers didn’t find a place in the eleven.
The bowling attack will be led by Mitchell Johnson and his teammates, Trent Boult and Tim Southee.
The team also has Shane Warne in the mix.
