Watch: Did Cameron Bancroft attempt ball-tampering during Ashes series?

Australia lost the third Test against South Africa by 322 runs in Cape Town.

Sydney: Australia cricketer Cameron Bancroft was in the news for the wrong reason on Saturday when a video of him tampering the ball with a yellow object went viral on social media during the third Test match against South Africa.

The Aussie opening batsman, along with Steve Smith later confessed that he was trying to tamper the ball.

However, it seems that this not the first time he was doing something similar.

It has been revealed that the 25-year-old Bancroft had tried to put sugar in his pocket during an Ashes game against England in Sydney earlier.

Here’s a video to get a clearer idea of what Bancroft tried to do.

Following the controversy, Australia suffered a huge 322-run loss to South Africa in the third Test on Sunday, with Morne Morkel taking five wickets as the visitors were bowled out for 107.

Steve Smith has been given a one-match ban, and is all set to miss the all-important fourth Test, as Australia look to level the four-match series 2-2.
