Bengaluru: Rishi Bopanna scored a composed century as Combined City XI posted 347 against Moffusil XI on Day 1 of the KSCA Inter Zonal cricket tournament for U-19 here on Wednesday.
Batting first at the Alur 2 ground, Bopanna 141 (211b, 15x4, 2x6) powered Combined to a strong total on the board even as Abhilash Shetty scalped six for 35 to restrict the rivals’ charge. Bopanna and Akshay Ashok (60) shared a vital 153-run partnership off 213 balls for the third wicket.
En route, Adithya Reddy (37) and Sudhanshu Sonkar (35) came up with useful contributions. In reply, Moffusil XI were 32 for one at the end of day’s play.
In another clash, Ritesh Pandey and Likith Bannur picked up three wickets each as Combined Moffusil XI were bowled out for 240. In reply, President’s XI were 50 for one at close of play.
